Job Title: Producer/Customer Service Assistant
Reports to Agent
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Working Time Percent of Monthly Working Time
1. Markets American Family products to new and existing policyholders. 50%
Solicits and informs potential policy holders through a variety of methods.
Conducts comparisons to other insurers and types of policies.
Deals with potential policyholders in a fair and ethical manner.
2. Facilitates policy issuance. 15%
Calculates and quotes policy premiums.
Upholds fiduciary responsibilities.
Uses American Family underwriting practices knowledge in handling new sales.
Oversees and coordinates collection of data for proper issuance of policies.
3. Performs Underwriting and Services related duties. 10%
Utilizes knowledge of insurance and policies to determine effects of changes requested (e.g., type of
coverage, method of payment, premium needed, etc.)
Determines need for more data to process new application/change and obtains it.
Inputs information and generates appropriate correspondence and forms.
4. Performs Claims servicing activities. 10%
Reviews claim forms and related documents for completeness.
Obtains additional information as needed for claims file.
Calculates amount of claim. Pays claims as directed.
5. Handles customer inquires, complaints, and situations. 10%
Works to maintain goodwill of American Family and Agency.
Address concern(s) and work to find resolution.
6. Maintains and develops knowledge of American Family products, services, etc. 5%
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:
Educational/Training/Work Experience
Appropriate state license(s) for insurance sales/agent.
High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of customer service or equivalent work experience.
Specialized Knowledge & Skills
Demonstrated knowledge of insurance concepts and principles.
Ability to learn American Family products, services, and computer systems.
Ability to organize, prioritize and handle multiple work assignments.
Demonstrated oral and written communication skills, maintaining of confidentiality, and ability to work
with people of diverse cultures, education, backgrounds, etc.
Demonstrated customer service skills and ability to tactfully work with people.

Work Environment/Physical Demands:
Office Setting
Occasional time is spent away from the office, acquire training, and conduct business in other public places.
Property & Casualty Insurance license valid in UT. If unlicensed, must pass test within 21 days of hire date.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
