Assistant Scientist, Product Development is responsible for executing lab scale testing for the development of nutritional supplement products, preparing specifications, and maintaining laboratory materials.
This position will support the establishment, evaluation, and improvement of product formulas, learning how to design capsules, tablets, and powders to meet customer and manufacturing needs.
Essential
Responsibilities:
Assist product development tasks such as prototype creation and testing for solid dose and powdered formats, including flavor application and evaluation Assist product improvement initiatives, improving manufacturability, flavor, cost, etc.
Communicate and explain results or observations to supervisor and other team members, making special note of unexpected results or observations, and proposing interpretations Maintains inventory for laboratory supplies and cleaning of lab areas and equipment Involvement in the establishment and improvement of internal processes for diverse product development tasks Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and company objectives.

Education Requirements:
Pursuing a BS degree in a related science preferred, with some experience in a laboratory environment Competencies/skill
Qualifications:
Interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a team-oriented environment, including cross-functionally Organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to display a degree of flexibility and adapt effectively to change Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, seeking information from others to accomplish objectives Desire to learn, apply, and enhance skill set Effective communication skills, written & oral PC proficiency using Microsoft Office suite software.
English proficiency required.
Physical Requirements:
Stand, walk, sit, balance, stoop or crouch, kneel, reach, push, grasp, feel, converse, and listen.
Exert an amount of force continuously and/or up to 5 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 25 pounds of force occasionally to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
