Summary: This role is an outside sales position, responsible for the sale, marketing and promotion of the Insurance company brand and products to the community. Spends majority of time outside the office developing external sales, travels within local communities to build awareness through centers of influence (COI) and via marketing events to generate potential leads. Builds relationships within local communities and promotes property/casualty and life insurance products. May service all available property/casualty and life insurance products via face-to-face contact and telephone (inbound/outbound) with customers. Responds to all questions regarding new customer accounts, product availability, billing and payment options, policy status, complaints, and other customer inquiries.
REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS: Reports to Team Leader/Manager, OYS Sales & Service; no direct reports
CORE JOB DUTIES
Responsibilities:
1. Promote and sell Insurance(client) products through a differentiated customer delivery utilizing prescribed best practices (e.g., provide examples). Provides quotes, determines eligibility and binds coverage face to face generally at the customer's location of choice.
2. Answers questions, provides explanations and makes recommendations to prospects and existing members regarding property/casualty and life products. May assist with all issues relating to their policy including claims, billing and payments, policy status, complaints, etc.
3. Develops relationship within the community in order to promote products and services. Responsible for installing and implementing effective prospecting, referral and marketing programs including community involvement and on site centers of influence activities.
4. Utilizes training and sales techniques to close the sale. Completes required applications and forms; issues conditional contract/binder within authority.
5. Generates and follows up on all leads and sells products to new customers, advising them of best coverage options, quoting appropriate rates and making every effort to close the sale in a first-time final mode.
6. Coordinates and participates in regular off site events as part of lead generating, promotional & marketing activities.
7. Responsible for achieving individual and office targets in support of corporate objectives. This may include but is not limited to new business and the retention efforts of the location.
8. Performs other duties as assigned.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Education: High school studies; technical school studies in personal computing and software usage. Prefer undergraduate studies in related field.
License/Designations: Property & Casualty license required. Life and Health licenses required. Associates must obtain the required Federal and/or state licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit. Additional licenses/registrations may be required when new products and services are implemented. If an associate fails or is unable to obtain required licenses/registrations within the time period designated by the business unit, the associate will be ineligible to continue in the position.
Experience: Two years of related customer service, sales and/or marketing experience. Experience in the insurance or financial services industry preferred.
Knowledge: Advanced knowledge of multiple personal lines property/casualty insurance products, insurance processing systems and procedures. General knowledge of marketing practices and techniques.
Skills/Competencies: Strong verbal and interpersonal skills to communicate technical insurance information to policy holders. Ability to identify potential marketing opportunities and establish, manage, and maintain the relationship and create marketing plans to grow business. Ability to operate personal computer and related business and insurance software.
Staffing Exceptions to the above minimum job requirements must be approved by the: Zone Director, and HR Director.
JOB CONDITIONS:
Working Conditions: Majority of time spent outside of office at community events and various locations, environments and physical requirements (standing, sitting, etc.). Occasional normal office environment. Evening, weekend, and non-standard work hours are required. Frequent travel required for sales training and development. Sr Advocates are required to operate an automobile and have a valid driver''s license with a safe driving record.
